Montesquius 1918 Gran Reserva is a sparkling blend of Macabeo (43%) from old vines and Xarel·lo (39%) and Parellada (18%) from young vines, all of them located in Alt Penedès in very mineralized clay-calcareous soils.
TASTING NOTE
Vivid yellow color with a persistent rosary of bubbles well integrated, powerful and great personality. Sparkling aromatic, with balsamic notes, laurel and a toasted hazelnut background. Very elegant in aromas. The palate is a cava of great finesse, vanilla, light smoky notes and very silky. Vibrant, fresh and intense.
VINIFICATION
Harvest between the end of August and the beginning of October. The must is extracted from the grapes, slowly and at low pressure, fermenting separately in stainless steel tanks with controlled temperature. In January the bottling is carried out to make way for the second fermentation in the bottle. During all its aging in the cellar it will rest in a horizontal position at a constant temperature of 18ºC in underground cellars.
PAIRING
Ideal to accompany seafood, fish and rice, and is spectacular to accompany bread with tomato and ham.
