In Barbados, where rum was first created about 400 years ago. They have spent the last centuries perfecting the art of distilling and mixing the country's most famous export.
The flagship Bumbu Rum is based on the original recipe created by the sailors of the Antilles of the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries, who combined the native Caribbean ingredients in their rum and called it "Bumbu" - truly the original artisan spirit.
Bumbu is made in a historic Barbadian distillery founded in 1893 and operated continuously for over 120 years. Bumbu is distilled using two continuous stills and up to 15 years in barrels of Kentucky bourbon.
Made from a mixture of sugarcane selected from eight countries across the West Indies and South America. The yeast used during fermentation is a secret distillery dating back to 1840. Bumbu Ron has up to 15 years of aging for achieving exceptional balance and softness without sacrificing the richness and complexity that makes the distillery rum Barbados is the best in the world.
