Tanqueray No Ten

Tanqueray No Ten is the first distilled gin that uses citrus and hand picked fresh plants. It is a London Dry Gin, that is, a dry London gin. Its name comes from the origin of its production, since it arose from the elegant alembic "# 10", designed to create a liquor with an exquisite character and depth. It is a very cool gin with citrus touches.

TASTING NOTE

Totally crystalline. Fresh nose with citrus notes, herbs and spices. In the mouth it is intense and refreshing with notes of citrus and touches of grapefruit, orange and lime. It has a subtle end with nuances of juniper and balsamic notes of chamomile.

ELABORATION

It is produced by double distillation of pure alcohol of grain with herbs added in the second distillation. The novelty of this gin is the use of plants and citrus in the distillation. It is made by combining oranges, lees, juniper berries with neutral liquor, in four different distillations. In the last distillation, neutral liqueur and citrus fruit are distilled with chamomile flowers.

The exact proportions used are kept jealously in secret. There are only four people in the world who know the Tanqueray recipes, which are stored under three keys in a black book known as "The Bible."

AWARDS

This gin has won numerous awards since its release but in 2003 there was an unprecedented event when it won the Best White Spirit award for the third consecutive time in the San Francisco World Spirits competition. This gave rise to the creation of a new award: Hall of Fame. Tanqueray No Ten is the only gin that has this recognition.
