Vermouth Dos Déus Origins Smoked Rojo is a vermouth crafted by Priorat B&D Lab in the town of Bellmunt del Priorat, in the heart of heavenly and beautiful Priorat. This is a Spanish wine region inspired by Islay whiskeys that use peat to smoke barley and American bourbon, matured in highly charred barrels. The result is a complex, layered vermouth that evolves in the mouth with an unusual smoky note.
TASTING NOTES
This is an attractive vermouth with great aromatic complexity, with floral, woody, and smoky notes. The palate is complex, nuanced, and very expressive. Bittersweet notes are balanced between vanilla and charcoal. It is smooth and fruity, with a smoky touch reminiscent of American whiskey.
PRODUCTION
Smoked Rojo is made with a base of Macabeu, Xarel·lo, and Parellada grapes using 100% natural botanicals, 17 herbs and spices including nutmeg, clove, cumin, and orange peel. Matured in French oak and refined in toasted American oak barrels.
PAIRING
Ideal with cheese and Iberian cured meats, or simply served on its own with simple olives and a slice of orange or lemon.
